Mitchell’s Wool Fat Hand & Body Lotion

After continuing to have amazing experiences using the Mitchell’s Wool Fat Shaving Soap, I was hoping they also made an aftershave. I was in search of something that compliments the amazing softness that the shaving soap provides.
Unfortunately it did not appear that MWF made an aftershave. I did see online is that some people were using the Mitchell’s Wool Fat Hand & Body Lotion after shaving, so I decided I would give it a shot.
I did not want to just use lotion as an aftershave, I like something to act as an astringent to clean my face after shaving. Without an astringent the residue of soap or cream and possible remaining stubble can clog your pores and result in razor burn, bumps or ingrown hairs. Seeing how many aftershaves contain alcohol or witch hazel, I thought Thayers Original Witch Hazel would work well.
The result of using these 3 products together is an unbelievably soft shave. Often after using just an aftershave splash that my face and head could still use some more moisture (I live in a fairly cold and dry climate most of the year). I have found myself gravitating to the Mitchell’s Wool Fat Hand & Body Lotion after most of my shaves, unless I use a balm.
Do note that as per the ingredients below, this product does contain parabens. There seems to be conflicting studies regarding the health risks related to parabens, and quite a few people now are actively making an effort to avoid parabens. From what I can tell the US FDA and Health Canada both consider parabens to be “safe as used” at the current concentrations and exposure levels, and based on how great this makes my skin feel I am going to continue to play with this fire until big brother tells me otherwise.
Also note that the main concern seems to be the link between casual use and breast cancer, so I am not sure men need to worry about using parabens on their face and head. (To confirm, I am not a Doctor and have zero education in this type of science).
